Prof. Dr. Jenna Koenen

The "School of Analytical Sciences Adlershof" (SALSA) focus in its science education curriculum on scientific inquiry as a fundamental concept, also for doctoral students in science.  Prof. Koenen developed the details and evaluated in a Mixed-Method-Design the effect of different learning offers to SALSA members.

She enriched from 2015-2017 the Tiemann Chemistry Education Lab with her excellent knowledge of research methods and theories in science education and is now working at the TU München.

Dr. Natalia Spitha

Learning environments for chemistry teaching in secondary schools are continuously evaluated and further developed on the basis of current teaching and learning research as well as technological advances. However, this cycle of evaluation and improvement does not seem to continue at the university level, where chemistry studies remain “traditional” and rather passive. At the same time, the high dropout rate among chemistry students in Germany suggests that this teaching style is not effective for many students. The project, funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for two years, aimed to introduce a series of simulation-based activities into the curriculum in order to problematize the learning of chemical content and make it more active for students.

She is now working at the bologna.lab at HU Berlin.
